On October 12th, we celebrated the groundbreaking of the SECU Family House, the opening of the new Taylor Family Wing at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home, and the expansion of the SECU Palliative Care Center on the Hospice Campus. One of the best things about our job are opportunities to help with significant, positive impacts on the community. It’s exciting and rewarding to be involved in these projects, and we get to work with some great people along the way!
The SECU Family House is a “Home away from Home” for families of patients of our two local hospitals and Hospice Home. With over 30,000 square feet, the facility has 45 family rooms with the purpose to provide a comfortable and affordable place for familes to rest, gather together and share meals in a family-oriented environment. We are thrilled to be part of the design team, along with Thomas H. Hughes Architects. Our challenge is to work with the project team to create spaces that provide a comfortable, residential environment while standing up to a lot of use, and stretching the budget as far as we can! The community has already come together to get the project to this point and we are counting on using our contacts in the finishes and furniture industry to help complete this new and worthwhile project. Learn more about this exceptional project from the SECU Family House press release.
